The French Paradox
The French Paradox could be defined as a high level of risk from high levels of cholesterol, fat and hypertension, yet a much lower death rate, one of the lowest in the world, from heart disease. Cross cultural studies have reported significantly lower risk of heart disease in France and other Mediterranean wine drinking regions. The graph below shows that although France consumes as much fat calories as other countries, the incidence of coronary disease if dramatically lower. With our enlightened knowledge of dietary requirements for a healthy and happy life, we are able to conclude that wine will help us achieve our goals and become an enjoyable addition providing complementary flavors to almost everything we eat.
